Marissa Mayer is the CEO of Yahoo, and Yahoo owns Flickr, the popular photo website. Referring to changes at Flickr, she commented: “…there’s really no such thing as professional photographers anymore.”
Really? Guess I didn’t get the memo telling me I was no more.

Isn’t it nice to know you don’t exist?
To her credit, she withdrew and apologized for the remark.
There’s really no such thing as a relevant Yahoo anymore. There. I fixed it for her.
In her mind, they probably don’t exist. To her it is all about snapshots. Millions of snapshots taken with pocket cameras and cell phones. It is also all about social networking.
Look what she did to Flickr. It no longer looks like a Photo site. It looks like an “App” for a smart phone or tablet.
If you use Flickr consider moving to Ipernity. Very clean and simple interface. Very much like Flickr used to be.
